We are all searching for ways to make our mind more peaceful. Meditation is a great tool to accomplish this, but we may be unsure how to do it, or how to direct our thoughts. In this series we will learn what it means to meditate, and the beneficial objects upon which to focus our mind. Through gaining a deep understanding of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book Joyful Path of Good Fortune, we will learn to develop an enjoyable meditation practice that will bring us inner peace.
Reliable Minds For Difficult Times
Offered in June in Millburn Mall and Ridgewood
Our lives are filled with anxiety and uncertainty. Where can we find a reliable source of peace and wisdom? Learning to meditate helps us to rely upon peaceful states of mind and virtuous actions. This series will introduce Buddhist faith and the practice of refuge. It will explain how meditation can offer authentic protection. Appropriate for beginners and those with prior experience of meditation.

Sundays, 2 – 3 pm in Millburn Mall.
This class is designed for beginners. Each class begins with a simple meditation. During the teaching that follows, the instructor explains what meditation is. The last meditation demonstrates how contemplation works. You will be given a meditation that will help you get started at home. Meditations are guided by the instructor and are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

FRIDAY MORNING MEDITATION
Friday, 9:15 – 10:15 am in Millburn Mall.
Meditation can provide a break in our busy lives. Its purpose is to make our mind calm and peaceful. With a sense of inner peace and well-being we can learn to cope with life’s challenges and create new opportunities for growth. Come and enjoy these guided meditation classes. No prior experience is needed.
